We have a seal colony at Barrenjoey Head and have watched the numbers increase over the last few years. We have been lucky to see and enjoy them whilst out sailing. They are very beautiful and are often found resting on the rock platforms or frolicking in the bays. They are often seen thermoregulating .. meaning lying in the water with one or both flippers out to cool off and regulate their body temperature .. a totally normal behaviour to see in seals. We love our morning paddle boarding sessions and especially love it when the seals come to visit the jetties or fish further down the bays.
