Humpback highway collection of humpback whales Original Artwork by Jo Bell framed with Art Glass.
93cm x 75cm In a light wooden frame.
We are coming into my favourite time of year, it's Whale Season! I look forward to the Northern and Southern Migration every year. It can definitely look like a Humpback Highway at certain times between May and November. Such a special time where we get to see these gentle giants pass our beaches as they head North to warmer water to breed and have their beautiful calves. Once north, It is a time where they can relax after their long journey, fatten their calves up and teach their calves the skills of breaching, tail slapping .. before making their way back South to Antarctica.
No matter how many times I see these gentle giants, I can’t help but be thrilled. We are very fortunate to see them from the beach, from the headlands or on boats putting on a “show”, breaching, Tailslapping, Spy hopping or just cruising are a few of their traits, showing how majestic they are. I have loved seeing their numbers grow each year and my hope is that it continues.
