Humpback Whale Mum & Calf Unconditional Love Original Artwork by Jo Bell framed with Art Glass.
92cm x 70cm.
Original pen and ink drawing framed with Art glass in a light wooden frame.
I love watching the beautiful bonds that the Humpback Whales share with their calves. One of the really special experiences for me, was seeing the mums ‘School’ their calves. Teaching them to Tail slap , breach and Pec slap..they practice these techniques until they get it right as its an important form of communication. Humpback calves can be particularly playful and curious, But mum is never far away making sure they stay close. The calves stay in close contact with their mum for the first year of their life till they wean. It has been said that the calves whisper to their mums. I’m forever in awe and look forward to seeing these intelligent and majestic wonders again very soon.
