The Port Jackson Sharks commonly known as PJ’s , visit us on the Northern Beaches every year between late Winter to early Spring. They come in to breed and are often found under rock ledges resting during the day or can be seen cruising along the seabed’s and seagrasses. Their markings are distinct making it easy to spot them. The females lay spiral eggs and tuck them into the rock crevices. These eggs will stay there for 10-12 months before hatching. I can never pick a favourite, but these are one of the beauties I really look forward to swimming with in Winter.
