SEAHORSES (Soul Mates) - These beauties are residents in certain areas along our beautiful Northern Beaches and are protected. I can’t help but love and be fascinated by these little marine creatures. Once they partner up, they fall in love with each other and are partners for life. The males unusually give birth to their young.
These two “Soul Mates “were created from the sea stars and shells I’ve found along our local beach and in our rock pools on the Northern Beaches.
SEA TURTLES - I have been lucky to be able to be in the company of turtles a number of times over the years. The first time I saw them was at beautiful Lorde Howe Island. I was amazed by them and their gorgeous faces!
Since then I’ve been lucky to swim, dive and snorkel with them in the Whitsundays, Lady Elliot Island and at Cabbage Tree Bay on our Northern Beaches. I have seen a variety of species over the years, including the Green turtle, Hawksbill, Loggerhead and Leatherback turtles.
WEEDY SEA DRAGONS - I was super excited and surprised to see these gorgeous marine beauties when doing a dive a few years ago off Bangalley Headland on our beautiful northern beaches. They are shy little creatures that like to stay close to their home reef. With beautiful leaf-like appendages, they blend in the kelp. These are protected marine species.
