Zebra Sharks are commonly called Leopard sharks in Australia. The reason is that the pups are born with stripes and as the pup matures their stripes change to spots. Hence the confusion of their name. These carpet sharks are not aggressive. They are nocturnal feeders and can be found often resting on the ocean floor during the day or cruising near sandy floors and over coral reefs looking for crustaceans, molluscs, and little fish. These sharks are unfortunately endangered due to overfishing and a low reproductive rate.
